Property Description

Angus House is the old Port Noarlunga guest house. It is situated on approximately 1840 sqm and is now on the market. What a unique opportunity to own land so close to the Port Noarlunga township!

In terms of its outstanding location, the property is walking distance to the picturesque beach. The beautiful coastal vibe is exceptional enough as a visitor; therefore being a local would be a real dream come true. Saltfleet and Gawler Street and local community attractions and dining are also a short distance away.

The spectacular local Onkaparinga River is another natural site to behold. The Port Noarlunga location means being in good proximity to conveniences, such as the Seaford Rail line for access to the city. It also means being less than 20 minutes (approx.) to the bevy of attractions in McLaren Vale and surrounding places in this beautiful pocket of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The house in its original condition was described as :-

A dwelling with a symmetrical facade and a return verandah to all sides. The dwelling is situated on a sloping block and where the land falls away at the rear, the verandah has been enclosed to provide ancillary rooms. Walls are constructed of limestone (painted) with brick quoins. The hipped roof has half gables and is clad in corrugated steel. The verandah is timber with moulded capitals, balustrade and lattice screen to sections.

The house is heritage listed and now due to the ravages of time also has a safely order in place. Imagine the potential for development, and/or to bring this piece of history back to life. We make no representation as to what is possible or not possible for 62-64 Murray road, so for opportunities please contact Onkaparinga council and make your enquires.

Please note: Due to the Safety Order on the property DO NOT enter the block. Contact Jayne Corless to arrange a site visit.

Please note: This property is subject to HIA order.

History:

'Angus House' was the home of Miss Janet Warren, a member of the Port Noarlunga Vigilance Committee formed in 1914, a trustee and secretary to the Institute and Library Committee formed in November 1914, and librarian. Its form and construction suggest that it was built in the 1900's-1910's. Angus House was run as a guest house for visitors.
